Floods Recede as Baltic Storm Breaks Apart

2010 Military Spending Increase

Service to several major cities has been restored, and full service should be operational within a week as damaged terminals are repaired and runways cleared of debris.
Syktyvkar Prepares for Local Elections
Syktyvkar, the capital of the Komi Republic, will hold elections in three days. The mayoral and city council races are being watched by the entire country after the former mayor was ousted and imprisoned on charges of corruption.
New High-Speed Rail to Open
A new high-speed railway, the republic’s first, is scheduled to open for public use by the end of the month. This line, likely to be the first of many to come, will connect Ríga, Novegráde Velíkei, and Néugrade.
